Marjorie Taylor Greene Fumbles: Her ‘Attacks’ on Biden Sound Like Praise

Just when you thought you’d heard it all from Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, she surprises us once again. This time, at the Talking Points Action conference, Greene seemingly served up compliments in a poorly disguised attempt at berating President Joe Biden. It’s like watching a football player score an own goal and not even realize it.

Greene’s main gripe? Well, it turns out she’s terrified that Biden might actually follow through on his plans to “finish what FDR started.” Oh, the horror! He’s looking to solve issues that have plagued the American people for decades, like education, medical care, urban problems, rural poverty, transportation, and the expansion of crucial programs like Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and welfare. Scandalous, right?

But the plot thickens. It appears that “Bidenomics,” as the GOP has affectionately coined Biden’s economic strategy, has been doing more to boost income in red states than blue ones, according to The New Republic. It’s almost like he’s, you know, the President for all Americans, not just the ones who voted for him.

We can’t help but chuckle at Jay McKenzie, the host of the “Did Nothing Wrong” podcast, who satirically asked, “How will Dark Brandon ever recover from this?”

Meanwhile, historian Kevin M. Kruse cheekily pointed out the oddity of Greene’s ‘warning.’ He said that cautioning people that Biden is planning to create popular programs like Medicare and Medicaid is a rather strange way to attack him, but sure, let her have at it.

The kicker, though, comes from Representative Ritchie Torres who, after hearing Greene’s ‘attack,’ simply agreed. “Yes,” he admitted, “Guilty as charged.” Well, if pledging to finish what one of America’s most admired presidents started is a crime, then lock us up.

The Twitterverse had its share of fun too. Influencer Shauna W. quipped, “Did not have ‘Marjorie Taylor Greene doing campaign ads for Biden’ on my election bingo card but here we are.”

And so, as Greene tries to rile up the far-right with her fear-mongering, the rest of us can sit back, shake our heads, and appreciate the irony. Thanks, Marjorie, for reminding us exactly why we’re glad to have Biden in the White House.
